(Nearly) back from the States

The adventure is almost over.

At this time I'm sitting at the airport, waiting for the boarding to start. After nearly one week of visits to the airport, checking in and out to Hotels and having a nice weekend on Hilton Head Island (South Carolina) we finally got a reservation on a flight and are now on our way back.

Somehow I'm still suspicious that the plane really will take off. With a little bit of luck I'll be in Stuttgart in 10 hours from now.

Stranded in the U.S.A.

I'm stranded. Not somewhere on an Island but in the United States. A victim of a volcano whos name I can't even spell nor pronounce.

A week ago we took our fligh from Stuttgart to Atlanta to do some work here for our company. Another colleague who was on the same flight told me, that he would stay in Atlanta for 2 weeks. "Wow" I thought by myself, that's long. I was pretty sure that I would be home by the weekend. I was wrong, really wrong.

While our flight was still on schedule on Friday morning, that changed after we arrived at the airport. After waiting in front of the information counter for nearly 3 hours we got an alternative flight which is now due on next Monday. I'd be happy if this is really going to happen... Right now it looks as if this flight is getting canceled as well.

Hiking weeking in the Alpstein Area

Last weekend 4 friends of mine and me took a trip to the Alpstein Area located within the Appenzeller Land. We arrived on Friday afternoon at Bürlisau, parked our car at the cablestation and took the direct path up to Bollenwees and stayed there for 2 nights.

On Saturday we took the following route:

We just returned from our summer vacation. This year it lead us to Greece, Rhodes. Within 10 days we visited most attractions of this beautiful (and hot island) and spent quite some time at the beach - finally enough time to read some books and spend time with Lisa and Anja.

Hey, at least I'm still alive (somehow...)

While thunder is hitting Wurmberg really hard I thought it's just about the right time to write another rather interesting blog entry to document all the crazy things that have happened since last December:

  • 2009 has arrived
  • I started coding again (this time objective-c and cocoa and it's really hard for me to get used to that stuff)
  • Our garding is nearing it's completing
  • ...and Porsche is going into a direction I never imagined possible before...

Within the next 2 weeks my new bike from Focus will hopefully arrive and I guess this will reduce my free time in front of my Mac even more - so don't expect the frequence of Blog entries to increase. But I'll promise to update this page from time to time.
